Ten things i wish i knew about form 4

Before i actually went and bombed.

  • Add Math is an abstract subject. Don't bother trying to understand it. Or, if you want to, know when to stop before becoming crazy.
  • Don't get left behind in the homework train.
  • Don't step on cats.
  • Know your limits when actually making fun of girls.
  • If going to a concert, think it'd be a horrible one, and then it will turn out great.
  • Crapping with Paul confuses people. =D
  • Avoid staring at Mr Chai's [s]hiny head.
  • Love thy Kimia teacher, for she is a hormonally imbalanced creature
  • Chokes hurt people. A lot.
And, finally,
  • Debates are all rigged.
1 thing i know about form 5
  • 178 days is not long enough.

School Genesis

They say genesis is the most used moniker in gaming culture. Well, i don't care. Its the start of school, and so far everything is looking nice and shiny. I like Mr Choo, whose teaching style involves writing on the wood of the blackboard, and giving surprise quizzes before every lesson (last we learnt all the first 30 elements of the periodic table, weird).

The teachers are mostly the same, save for a nonexistent BM teacher (ours now sucks) and a very nice english teacher. Our first lesson involved her writing Success on the board, and then telling us, "That's the only thing i'm going to write today. So, what's the first thing that comes to your mind when you read the word success?"

Engaging lesson.

So apart from Peter Foo leaving the school (needless to say all of us are affected in some way or another - he was a very good principal) i think Form 5 is a little tougher, and a little better. Whatever happens, i swear i'll try not get buried under Add Maths homework again. =D

Midnight Watch

I just came back from church (again, how many times in December, now?) giving a testimonial about the Teen Ambassadors.

When i arrived, Aunty Wendy, who signed me on for that nerve recking experience (okay, okay, i voluntered) was gone - her father was sick and she had to go to see him.

The night passed very quickly, and my talk was well received, yada yada yada, even though i was darned nervous.

Then the sms from aunty wendy came. Her dad had just passed away. I just felt, y'know, stunned. The next reaction was prayer for the whole family.

God bless them.

To the rest of you out there, my friends, have a blessed new year. For those who are in the St Faith TA, pray.

And God be with you.
