Surprising, really. I tried my hardest to keep a low profile. Something slipped through.

They won! Woohoo!

The current name's reason is unknown, but Kara's Flowers was named after they (or at least 3 of them, anyway) sneaked off to give flowers to a childhood friend, Kara, on her 15th birthday. In the middle of the night. Now Levine admits to thinking more abour sex in his lyrics, at least "more than most people".

Go figure.

Life is reloaded

Once the CNY hols are over.... BLAM. All my responsibilities come back full force. My whole class is thrown into homework hell, but i believe this is the first year where my work load overcomes that of Kenny Voon, my class monitor lizard and lawyer-to-be. Jonathan, the guy sitting next to me, says: " Life is hell, especially when you're in school" at least once everyday. Guaranteed. And Nicholas, the tallest person in class (and genius, and also sitting behind me) says: "Want to die liaw." in hockien at the end of every add maths period. Everytime i hear the two of them i smile at the irony of it all.

For starters, they aren't on the debate team, that meets once per week (or more when there are matches coming up, like now). Those sessions, leave me saliva-less and without enough time for homework. So i follow the tried and true Thomain culture: copy, copy, copy. When no energy to copy, go find photostate machine. And then Square meetings, which i forget to attend, which is bad, since i'm in charge of the front page. And then, piano theory examination papers, two hours each, one per day. And Manticorefiction, the online series where i know some guys from the UK are waiting for the next episode. And then national level scrapbook competitions, where Ms Chong will skin me alive if she knows i haven't prepared a backbone for the project. And then impromptu speeches. And then inter-class debates. And then judo. And then, and only then, homework. Makes me wonder why i don't just buy a photostate machine.

*pause while scrambling for phone*

*comes back ten minutes later*

Great. Just got a call from Amanda. Tells me i've been 'promoted' to games coordinator for the easter rally in church. I'm so dead.

Chinese New Year - food, festivities and ang pows

I'm writing this at the eve of the Chinese New Year (due to laziness, i'm jus going to put CNY). I'm listening to a Cannon violin concerto , the family pet tortoise sitting comfortably in a tank at my side and the rest of my family is finishing up dinner at the other side of the glass partition that separates the study from the dining area.

I'm contented, full and not intent on writing anymore theorems of the fabric of life. Sooo....

Here's wishing everyone (in Malaysia and any other part of the universe that celebrates CNY) a happy and prosperous new year full of surprises, turns and laughter.*

*and hopefully no more daft wars.

If an MP3 was released without a screen people would be shaking their heads and tutting. But when Apple does it their darn marketing manages to brainwash people. Don't you just love them? Posted by Hello

My update

This week was hectic, which was ironic, considering last week i didn't have a care in the world and was fragging with friends in Halo 2 at Josh's house. The teachers bombed me with about twenty pages each with per day and while i scrambled to hang on to the homework train that was moving at breakneck (yeah - my neck) speeds my english teacher threw a poem at me to complete, the head of english department (think big brain sitting on chair) slammed a commonwealth essay into my chair and i had to juggle various club activities. And did i mention the singing assignment, the upcoming piano examination and the loss of my dearly departed MP3 player?

Oh yes. Pity me. This is what you get when you have the most responsible guy in the world, and he doesn't know how to say no....

Well, my week summed up:

  • I found out Esther was going overseas. Which adds her to the growing list of Sam, Johnathan, (soon to be) Ling, Sze Howe, Karl (who BTW is struggling at his new school - God bless him) and *gee, i ran out of names*
  • Nearly finished my homework pile by today
  • Ling lost my MP3 player. Damn. But i can't blame him - its one of my bad traits. I'm just too friggin nice.
  • Realised i liked where i was sitting in class
  • Suddenly had this intense longing for an iPod shuffle. Its small, cool and oh-so-white. I love it.
  • Got back my old sense of humour. Which unfortunately does not involve common sense.
  • Got a crewcut. Told everybody who asked that my barber wanted to experiment with flamethrowers.
There. I just purged my guts out. And you know what? I feel better already. :D
